mEAme

So of course we're all aware of the shiny new Create A Pet Demo download that EA released recently. I have to say, I was pretty stoked about it, especially since there's no chance I'll be getting TS3 Pets anytime soon (mostly because a. I can't afford a distraction like that because of school and b. I am a broke college student). I clicked the link and it took me to a page for EA's new game fiasco-website-shenanigans called Origin. I was like "Okay, this is new...but maybe it's somehow easier..." The webby site then prompted me to download their program so I could install the demo. The download started, and to my great disappointment...it was an .exe file. Windows. BOOOOOO.

I did some epic and intricate research via Google and couldn't find anything about a Mac version. You know, EA, if you're going to make a demo available for a game that runs on BOTH Windows and Mac OSX, mmaaaayyyybeee you should make your silly program to install it run on both. Thanks for, once again, giving Mac users the ass-end of the deal.

If I get the time and energy, I might go ahead and install it on the Windows side of my Mac, but I'd much rather have the instant gratification of not having to work that hard for it. Video games and "work" are not two things that mesh well together, just like pudding and ceiling fans.

Don't get any ideas.

  3. I heard that it's been messing up people's games, so I'm not risking it. Another reinstall ... no thanks.

  4. I am the only one of my however many friends on my Sims FB that hasn't installed it, and let me tell you, the feedback was interesting. They say it's fun, and they play with it for about a day or too. Eventually, they get bored, and want to go back to their normal game. Then all hell breaks loose. Their game won't start up, CAP demo starts having issues, and then The Launcher won't open so you can't uninstall it. I'm a Windows user, I recently got an amazing graphics card (everything is amazing) and I am not going to loose it all for a demo. It's your choice Rexy, but I'm just letting you know my friends problems

  5. You should be happy you can't install it. It has messed up many people's games beyond belief...stuff like launcher not working, deleted content...it's because it uses ALL the game files. EA really screwed up with this demo.

  7. WHOA. I honestly didn't know anything about it -- I haven't been paying much attention to anything EA related lately (except for Alice: Madness Returns, hah). But thaaaannnnks for the heads-up -- I definitely won't be risking my Azu (my PC) or my game for a bunch of wonkiness. Cripes... o_O
